Descrizione:
Cambiamento epocale alla Filarmonica di New York. Il direttore Thomas viene sostituito dopo una lunga carriera e al suo posto, anche per risollevare l’orchestra, viene ingaggiato l’uomo del momento. Si tratta dell’eccentrico e giovane maestro Rodrigo, che irromperà con idee rivoluzionarie e sistematica rottura degli schemi in questo mondo apparentemente così rigido. Attorno all’orchestra gravitano quindi le vite di alcuni musicisti. Su tutti emerge Hailey, una giovane suonatrice di oboe alla quale si presenta l’occasione di una vita.
